This article had to do with United States being the land of limitations. United States offers countless opportunities, but it all depends on your upbringing. The article talks about a man Rick and how he died at 65 before ever achieving his full potential. He dropped out by tenth grade and worked odd job, married/divorced twice etc. He didn't have no help and died due to not being able to have access to what he needed. The whole article explained that it is hard to move up if your in poverty. Only 4 percent have a chance at rising to the top, while Britain has 12 percent. That shows a lot about our state and what we have become. We are a land of opportunity and not a land of limitations. Over time, things have become harder with the cost of living. People forced to stay in poverty or just stay comfortable, because of how society limits everything. It makes us become limited. Living in Public Housing for most of my life has limited me and my mom and made it comfortable and harder. Due to rent fluctuating up and down and work being slow, it has been rough. When I think about Rick dying without having access, makes me think of my mom and how she has to pay for her medical expenses and medicine now.
